The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has clamped a ban on all forms of gatherings, including meetings, rallies, and processions, anywhere near Secretariat and state guest house Jamuna, the chief advisor’s office.
The restriction will take effect from Monday and continue until further notice, according to a public notice issued by the DMP on Sunday night.
The ban came in response to the clashes that occurred near the Secretariat amid ongoing protests by Ansar personnel demanding the nationalisation of their jobs
The DMP cited the need to maintain public order in light of the ongoing situation for the prohibition.
